In September 2013, the founders of Olive NT, an experienced Chemist & Physicist, & his partner wanted to find a natural alternative to using pharmaceutical products that often produced side effects for them. However they could not find a natural product that would work for them.

So they decided to try to develop a 100% natural massaging oil that would help their problems.

After reviewing hundreds of scientific papers they found that the numerous antioxidants and phytochemicals in extra virgin olive oil & olive leaves were the best candidates.

They created their first formulation in September 2013, and decided to set up trials in New Zealand.

The formulation was designed to be rubbed into the skin without leaving an oily feeling or smell.

Samples, with no product label, were handed out by people we knew to all types of people in the North Island, New Zealand. Most were happy to try the oil because most had reoccurring chronic issues, and were looking for alternative therapy for pain relief.

Users were only asked if they would provide feedback (email or verbal) on how they used the oil; what they used it for; and what results they got from the massaging oil. This feedback would be used to improve the formulation. See our original R&D (link).

The formulation has been continually improved through feedback from customers, and a group who have continued as our trial users supplying feedback to help evaluate improvements.
